Interview part two :)

A character interview with Jack and Stephanie Stephens.

1. When you wake up in the morning what’s the first thing you do?

Jack: Look at my beautiful wife and thank my lucky stars.

Steph rolls her eyes and laughs

Steph: I roll over and go back to bed.

2. What do you like best about yourself? Least?

Steph: I like my hair I guess the best. I hate how short I am.

Jack: I like my dimples, because they always got the ladies.

Stephanie laughed and then shrugged.

He’s right.

Jack: I guess I hate how I used to be a womanizer.

3. You have 2 beautiful daughters. Where do you see them in 5 years?

Steph: I hope 5 years older and healthy and happy. Bee will still be torturing her dad and flirting with everyone. Tessa will try to emulate her sister, but she won’t be as flirtatious. She is more like me and will be more reserved.

Jack: Bee will stop torturing me when she realizes how much it hurts me. Tessa will stay a perfect little lady and tell me everything about what her sister is getting into.

Steph: They will be the best young ladies. I can’t wait to watch them grow.

Jack: They will be going to an all girls school.

Steph: No they won’t.

Jack: They will never date.

Steph: They will learn to love chocolate and peanuts.

Jack looked incredulously at her.

Jack: You did not just go there.

Steph: You just make it too easy.

4. What was the first thing that attracted you to each other:

Steph: Well, I would have to say that the fact he saved my life was pretty romantic.

Jack: I think when I first saw her, I knew she was someone that deserved to smile. I just had to make it better. It was purely selfish. I felt like I needed to simply make her life better.

Stephanie squeezed his hand and her eyes filled with tears.

Steph: He’s done that every day since.

5. What was it like for you to reconnect with your father?

Jack: When my mom died and my dad just left, I was okay with never seeing him again. I had so much anger, you know? I mean who does something like that? I was a senior in high school and he just left.

Stephanie rubbed his back and he shrugged.

Jack: Tommy’s parents took me in and they all saved me. I was such a mess and I don’t think I would have graduated high school if they didn’t help me. I wanted to give up on everything, but they simply took me in. When Steph and I ran into him in Paris, you could have knocked me over with a feather. I never thought I would see him again, and I didn’t know what to do. It took a lot for me to let him back in and I thank Steph for showing me that I needed to repair that relationship. She was right and although it hasn’t been easy, I am so glad he is in my life. He is the best grandfather to our girls and Jenny has been the best thing to happen to him.

Steph: I think we’ve all learned that when you have a chance to connect to family, you need to take it.

6. That moves us into the next question about your family. Can you talk about your parents?

Steph: My Uncle Brent was the best. He raised me after my birth father dumped me. He is the man I consider my dad and I am the luckiest to have been given to him. I met Brittany because of moving in with him and that in itself has been the best thing ever.

7. Jack, what’s the craziest thing you and Tommy ever did?

Jack: Think we were equipped to handle a teenage girl. We were so out of our element with her, but looking back, she was the best thing we ever did. Julie made us realize what was important and she truly showed us what it means to be a family.

Stephanie: They always say she is the ‘glue’ and it’s true. She is the best of both of them.
