An interview with Jack and Stephanie

A couple interview with Jack and Stephanie Stephens.

Interviewer: “Jack, what was the first thing that attracted you to Stephanie?”

Jack: “Her strength.”

Stephanie: “I was standing on a ledge. How is that strong?”

Jack takes her hand.

“Because you let me into your world when you didn’t have to. You stood up to the darkness and won. If that isn’t strength, then I don’t know what is.”

Stephanie kisses him.

Interviewer: “Stephanie, do you think that physical attributes are more important to maintaining a successful relationship or do you think that friendship maintains a relationship?

Stephanie: “Have you looked at him?”

They both laugh.

Stephanie: “Well, I certainly overachieved with the physical attributes, but I know, without a doubt, that Jack is my best friend. He is there for me in every way I could ever need and that goes far beyond the physical connection. He has my back, and that means everything to me.”

Jack squeezed her hand.

Interviewer: “Jack, when you look at a woman, what is the first thing you notice?

Stephanie stared at him.

Jack: “Um, I don’t?” he squeaked.

Stephanie laughed.

“It’s okay, you can answer.”

Jack exhaled.

“Well, I actually notice how she carries herself. I like a confident person, so I look for someone who makes her presence known.”

Interviewer: “Stephanie, what is the first thing that you notice when you look at a man?

Stephanie: “I notice how he reacts to me. I’m tiny and that makes a lot of people underestimate me. If they don’t acknowledge my presence or intelligence, then I have no time for that.”

Interviewer:  “Okay, let’s get a little more personal. This question is for both of you. If you don’t say so, how does the other know that you want to make love?”

Jack: “She sleeps naked. If the nightgown is off, then it’s gonna be an awesome night.”

Stephanie rolls her eyes: “That’s not it. I get overheated a lot, you know that.”

Jack: “Well yeah, you sleep with me.”

Stephanie shook her head.

“If he’s breathing, he wants sex.”

Jack: “I don’t hear you complaining.”

She blushes.

“Never.”

Interviewer: “Stephanie, how do you feel if Jack comes into the bathroom when you are using the facilities?”

Stephanie: “If I’m in the shower, I don’t mind, but if he’s going to use the toilet, he can wait. We kind of have a rule about that. It’s gross.”

Jack: “I think she’s a little ridiculous. I should be able to pee when she’s in the shower.”

Stephanie: “We have more than 1 bathroom, so there’s no problem.”

They both stare at each other and then shake their heads.

Interviewer: “Jack, when was the last time you took a shower together?”

Jack looked at Stephanie.

“Two days ago?”

Stephanie: “Yeah. I wish it was more often, but he likes them scalding hot and I can’t handle that.”

Jack: “You know I would shower in an ice bath if it meant more sex,” he smiled at her.

Stephanie: “You say the most romantic things.”

Interviewer: “Jack, was there anything that you were worried about the first time you were about to become naked in front of Stephanie?”

They both laughed.

Jack: “Well the first time was unexpected. She was taking a bath and she slipped. I was wearing a robe and rushed into the bathroom and the robe caught on the door and came off. She saw my birthday suit way before I planned and in the most unglorified unsexy way.”

Stephanie: “I was overwhelmed. He was beautiful.”

Jack grinned.

Interviewer: “Describe your parents marriage. What was the best part and the worst part in your opinion?

Stephanie: “I never knew my parents.”

Jack: “My parents had an amazing and loving relationship. The best part was how in love they were. The worst was when my dad left.”

Stephanie held his hand.

Interviewer: “Who was the first person who died in your life and how did you feel?”

Stephanie: “Nikki, my best friend. I ended up on a ledge, so I don’t think I handled it well.”

Jack: “My mom. It destroyed my life.”

The both held hands.

Interviewer: “Jack: Describe your perfect dream date.”

Jack: “Anything we do naked.”

Stephanie: “He’s so romantic.”

They both laughed.

Interviewer: “Outside of each other, Who is the person you admire most and why?”

Jack: “Tommy. He’s just an amazing human being and he’s changed my life.”

Stephanie: “Brittany. She leads her life with a grace and dignity that I aspire to achieve.”

Interviewer: “What is the one thing that would be a relationship breaker for you?”

Jack and Stephanie: “Lies.”

Interviewer: “Both of you, what is the one thing that the other does that makes you crazy?

Jack: “She leaves the toothpaste open. How hard is it to close the tube?”

Stephanie: “He leaves the seat up. I don’t understand why he can’t remember to put it down.”

Interviewer: “Who do you feel responsible for in your life?”

Jack and Stephanie: “Our daughters.”

Interviewer: “Last question. What is something other don’t know about your spouse that you think they should?”

Stephanie: “What an amazing father he is. Our daughters are so blessed to have him in their lives. He adores them and to watch how they learn from his is such a blessing. I picked the best man to be on this journey with me.”

Jack: “How strong she is. She never complains and I know how much she deals with. She is the best mom and the most compassionate friend and doctor. She never lets anything stop her and I know just how much of herself she gives to everyone else. I just adore her.”

They both kissed and smiled broadly.

Interviewer: “Thank you so much for this fun night.”
