As a thank you for so many preorders, here is a fun sneak peek at “Left Behind”
******************************************************************
Julie stood in the bedroom and watched Bill sleeping. Watching him laying there, the stubble covering his face, his tattoos outlined by his muscles, she felt her heart race.
She simply loved him.
They didn’t have a lot of chance to talk after he got home with Josie. Everyone was tired and Julie fell asleep before he came to bed. She wanted to talk to him and let him know what David said. She also wanted to know how Josie was during their dinner.
Right now, she felt like she needed her husband.
She dropped her robe and crawled back into the bed, moving to run her hand over his chest. She leaned her head on her hand and slowly moved her hand farther down to his waist. She smiled when she saw his body respond to her.
“Good morning,” he smiled behind his closed eyes.
She grinned and rested her head on his shoulder.
“Good morning.”
He opened his eyes and looked at her.
“You’re naked?”
She nodded.
“I am.”
His eyes grew wet and she sat up.
“What’s wrong? Do you want me to put clothes on?”
“No,” he said softly. “I just love you so much. I don’t think I’ve made that very clear the past few months.”
She ran her hand through her hair and sat facing him.
“I know you love me,” she said. “We have both been dealing with things and I think now we’re on a road to make things better. I love you and I need you.”
He sat up and pulled her to him, holding her as she sat facing him and he leaned in to softly kiss her.
“I need you, too,” he said and smiled. “I think I should take a shower before we do anything. I smell.”
“No you don’t,” she said and grinned. “Shall we take one together?”
He laughed as she ran into the bathroom and turned on the shower. He stretched and followed her, watching her body glisten in the water making it hard for him to walk.
“Got you’re sexy,” he said as he stepped into the tub and pulled her to him. Their hands were all over each other and Julie took the soap, lathering his body and pressing him against the wall. He went to move and slipped on the soap, crashing to the ground and pulling her with him.
“Oh, shit,” she said and realized he broke her fall. She also felt her elbow had hit something it shouldn’t. “Are you okay?”
He sat there, the water pouring on his face and he laughed, his eye red.
“Um, well, I’m pretty sure that wasn’t supposed to happen.”
She turned the water off and giggled.
“So maybe shower sex isn’t supposed to happen in such a tiny tub shower?”
He was quiet and she reached to help him up.
“I think we might have a problem.”
She looked at his leg and saw it was twisted funny and his eye was swelling. Did she elbow him in the face?
“Oh no! What did I do?” she asked as her tears came. “Should I call an ambulance?”
He looked at her like she was crazy.
“I’m naked in the shower and I work for the police department. We are not calling anyone,” he said. “I’ll get up and it will be fine.”
She went and pulled her robe on and rushed back to help him, her own muscles aching.
“I can do it,” he said and went to grab the side of the tub to get up. His hand slid and he fell back.
“I’m still soapy.”
She wiped her eyes and turned the water on, the freezing temperature caused him to yelp.
“Oh, shit,” she said and tried to adjust it. He looked at her and they both burst out laughing.
“I’m sorry,” she said as she wiped her eyes. “I just wanted some morning sex.”
He laughed and finally got himself up into a standing position. He realized he couldn’t put weight on his leg and she turned the water off and grabbed a towel for him.
“Can you get my crutch?” he asked softly.
“Oh no, I’m so sorry,” she said and felt her heart ache at his pain.
She went to the closet and he hopped out of the shower and to the closed toilet seat, sitting down.
“Okay, what can I do?” she asked as she walked in.
“I need to get dressed and then it will be fine. Don’t worry,” he smiled at her.
“Don’t worry? I broke you! I think I also gave you a black eye.”
He pulled her to him and smiled as he kissed her fingers.
“My leg is a mess. It’s been a mess for years and you know we’ve been through this before. I think it’s just a little sprain and it will be fine. You go get dressed and I’ll wash up and we can go about our day.”
She looked at him like he was crazy.
“I’ll get dressed and then we are going to the hospital for them to x-ray your leg.”
He sighed.
“We need to go talk to the new doctor.”
She nodded.
“I agree, and on our way to see him, we will stop and have someone check your leg.”
He knew he wasn’t going to win this one.
“Okay, but nobody can find out how this happened.”
She smiled, knowing that wasn’t a possibility, and went to get dressed.
Bill stood up with the crutch and looked in the mirror. His eye was turning a nice shade of black and blue.
This wasn’t the wake up he intended.

“Let’s sit for a minute before we meet everyone,” Tommy said as he and Brittany walked out of her office and were near the ER.
“Okay,” she said and they walked to the bench. She had her hair covered and he moved her hat.
“What are you doing? I don’t want to be recognized.”
“I needed to look at my wife for a minute,” he said as his eyes were wet. “I just love her, a lot.”
She smiled and leaned in to kiss him softly.
“She loves you, too.”
“Tommy?” they heard a voice.
Both of them looked and saw Julie standing there with Bill, his leg bandaged and his eye a nice shade of black and blue. He leaned on his crutches.
“Oh my God, were you in an accident?” Tommy asked as he stood up.
Bill turned a million shades of scarlet and sighed.
“No. We’re fine.”
Julie moved slowly to sit with them and smiled.
“I just pulled my back a little. We’re good.”
“You’re not good,” he said and Brittany walked to her brother.
“What did you do to your leg?” she asked him. “And your face?”
“I fell. I sprained my ankle; my leg is fine. I’ll just be on crutches for a few days, nothing major.”
“What happened?” Stephanie and Jack asked as they came in and walked over
“Oh for the love of all that is holy,” Bill muttered.
“I don’t know. We were just on our way to an appointment and we found them,” Tommy said.
“Was it a car accident?” Jack asked as he saw Julie get up slowly and walk to her husband. “Are the kids okay?”
“We weren’t in a car accident. The kids are fine!” Bill said a bit angrier than he meant.
The four other adults stood there, stumped.
“So what the hell happened? It’s not like you were doing something kinky and hurt yourselves,” Jack said and they saw Bill and Julie look down.
“Oh, seriously?” Jack asked incredulously.
“You are so grounded!” Tommy said.
Brittany and Stephanie burst out laughing and Bill and Julie limped to the bench and sat down.
“Why don’t you take out a billboard? I’m not sure everyone on the 11th floor heard you,” Julie glared at her brother.
“And we weren’t doing anything kinky,” Bill said.
Jack grinned and looked at him.
“Did you need some pointers? You’re not supposed to end up in the ER when you want to have fun.”
“This conversation is over,” Bill said. “We need to go.”
Julie stood up and looked at them.
“This needs never to be brought up again.”
Tommy crossed his arms and sighed.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
Julie smiled.
“I am. I guess the shower is simply for washing.”
“Jules!” Bill said.
She blushed.
“Sorry.”
“Gross. I can never unhear that,” Tommy said and looked at Jack who looked equally as green.
“Like we haven’t done that,” Stephanie said.
“Or us,” Brittany grinned.
“Eww! What is wrong with this family?” Julie asked. “Who has these discussions?”
“Maybe you should get some of those tub stoppers, so you don’t slip?” Jack said.
“Maybe you should never talk again,” Julie said.
They all laughed and Bill put his arm around his wife.
“It’s good to laugh. We need to get back to what we do best.”
“Apparently that’s not shower sex,” Tommy muttered.
“Seriously? We were having a moment,” Julie smacked his arm.
He laughed and they all felt the tension leave everyone.
